A fresh idea on a age old issue.

Typical day. My friends and I were sitting around a Starbucks with our coffee goodies. So once again, typical day, typical girls, hanging out, what else do we talk about but our uncertainty about our bodies. In fact, it seems like throughout the years, some kind of crazy society rhetoric of ours has dictated to people what is the "right" look, the "right" speech, the "right" way of life. My question is, who is to say what is right and what isn't? And who are these elusive know-it-alls who constantly pick and choose who we should be and what we should look like? People blame the media, but isn't it, in all honesty, our own fault for buying into it? Bu then again, we are only partially to blame. We also need to blame the people around us...

Lemme ask you a question, how many of us have fallen head over heels for some macho, gorgeous, completely into himself Edward Cullen beauty... only to find out that he's into 7ft tall, sun-kissed, blonde haired bombshells...while you are a 5'1", pale skinned, and dark-haired girl..simply dreaming of her Mr. Darcy, or Edward. We begin to feel so unloved, like, we're not perfect. Or how many of us have ever had a boyfriend or even a bestfriend tell us that our arms are too big, or that we have thunder thighs? We begin to criticize every little thing about us, just because someone said some dumb comment. Sad, yet true, especially nowadays.

Which is exactly why I decided to make this blog. It's designed for those of us that have felt put down or just not perfect, for those that are trying to find themselves in the world, but still feel like perhaps our self confidence isn't up to par..

Here's how this will work:

If you feel like you don't like your arms, your thighs, your feet, your hands, your stomache, your breasts, what have you, take a photo of just that area and send it to ilikemenot@gmail.com. Write a little something about why this area bothers you and attach the photo, of course, you can always remain anonymous, but I think writing a little bit about your issue will help. I will try to put up the photo and your story on the blog. After this, followers can see the attached photo, read the story, and comment, but ONLY POLITE, NICE COMMENTS PLEASE! What we all really need to realize is that we're beautiful just the way we are because, as incredibly cliche as it sounds, we ARE all unique. Sometimes, someone just needs to overcome their fears and insecurities and only then will they be able to move on.

Also, if anyone ever needs to talk, rant, or possibly needs advice, send it to me. I will do my best to help you out as much as i can, or simply listen, since sometimes, we all need that.

Send all photos and stories to ilikemenot@gmail.com.
